GIF Maker
Create an animated GIF from multiple still images. Reorder frames, control timing and looping, preview the sequence, and encode the GIF locally in your browser.
1. Add frames
Add at least two images to create an animation.
2. Animation settings
Each frame can override the default delay below. The initial browser encoder uses a fixed 256-colour GIF palette, so photos and smooth gradients can show colour banding. Transparency is composited onto the selected background colour.
3. Preview & create GIF
Privacy, quality & limits
Build 071 GIF creation runs locally in the browser; selected frames are not uploaded merely to create the animation. To reduce browser lockups, one animation is limited to 60 source frames, a maximum output dimension of 1600 × 1600, and a total rendered-frame budget of 60 million pixels. GIF uses a 256-colour indexed palette and is not ideal for high-colour photography.
The built-in encoder is intended for dependable basic image-to-GIF creation without pretending the browser has a native GIF encoder. Advanced palette quantization, dithering, video-to-GIF and preserving animation from animated source files remain later Media Engine work.
