Technical Audio Report Comparator
Compare two audio files using the same MesraTools technical-report engine and see numeric differences without declaring a subjective quality winner.
What is compared
Build 112 compares decoded duration, sample rate, channel count, frames per channel, sample peak, mathematical RMS, maximum absolute DC offset, decoded full-scale sample count and stereo correlation where both files have at least two channels.
How to interpret the delta
The delta column is File B minus File A. A positive RMS or peak delta means B has a numerically higher decoded level, not automatically better sound. A sample-rate or channel-count difference is a format/property difference, not a quality score.
Metadata comparison
The generated JSON includes supported common tag fields found by the Build 112 metadata inspector. Metadata may be absent even when a browser decodes the audio successfully because container/tag parsing remains deliberately bounded.
Important limits
This comparator does not measure LUFS, reconstructed true peak/dBTP, perceptual codec quality, noise floor under a calibrated standard, dynamic-range standards, phase-vectorscope compliance or mastering quality. It does not tell you which file “sounds better.”
Practical uses
Use it to verify whether processing changed duration, peak/RMS level, sample rate, channels or other measured properties; to compare an original with a processed output; or to attach a repeatable technical difference record to troubleshooting.
Privacy
Both files are decoded and analyzed locally in the browser. The downloadable TXT/JSON comparison contains report evidence, not the audio itself.
Example
If File A peaks at −3 dBFS and File B peaks at −1 dBFS, the peak delta is approximately +2 dB. That shows B is closer to digital full scale; it does not prove clipping, loudness compliance or better mastering.
