MesraTools · Build 122

Peak-Safe Gain Planner

Estimate how much constant gain can be added before a chosen ceiling is reached using bounded 4× inter-sample peak evidence.

Choose a mono or stereo browser-decodable audio file.

What it calculates

The tool estimates the current inter-sample peak and subtracts it from your selected ceiling. A positive maximum static gain means there is estimated headroom; a negative value means attenuation is indicated to stay under that ceiling.

Practical use

Use this before a simple gain change when you want peak-headroom evidence without invoking a limiter. Re-check the rendered output with appropriate production metering before delivery.

Privacy

This Build 122 workflow decodes and analyzes audio locally in the browser; the selected file is not intentionally uploaded.

Standards and limitations

Integrated/window loudness uses the MesraTools BS.1770-style mono/stereo foundation. Peak planning uses the Build 121 4× inter-sample peak estimate. These tools are analytical planning aids, not certified broadcast meters, official dBTP/LRA instruments, limiters, or delivery-compliance certificates.
